BYU RUGBY TRAVELS TO MORAGA, CA TO TAKE ON ST MARY'S

After a strong start to the season by both teams BYU and Saint Mary’s are set to face off today in Moraga, CA, which will be streamed live, starting at 2 PM MST.

With BYU coming off a loss to Men’s Pro Team the Glendale Raptors they are sure to make the competition fierce as they lace up their boots to take on the Gaels. With their respective home and home series being some of the best collegiate rugby in the country in recent years’ today’s game should come up just as exciting and skilled as it has in the past.

Since each team winning their home match in 2014, BYU has come away victorious every time since. Outside of last year’s overwhelming victory of 60-15 at South Field all other games were decided by 9 points or less.

“Saint Mary’s are always a formidable opponent; we have a lot of respect for their program starting with their coaches through to their players,” BYU Head Coach David Smyth commented. “I think we share a philosophy of playing an entertaining style of rugby by putting the ball into space, playing with width, working to get all 15 players involved in the game.”

One thing is for certain, with two of the best teams in the country set to face each other today the fans will be in for some good rugby and a glimpse of what the playoff rounds may hold.
